Texas rules this schedule follows
- § 406.024 — A notary or the notary’s employer may charge only the listed official fees, and may not exceed them as adjusted by the Secretary of State.
- § 406.024(c) — Fees are reviewed every five years against CPI-U. This table uses the amounts in force after H.B. 255 (effective September 1, 2023).
- § 406.111 — An online notary may charge up to $25 more for an online notarization, in addition to the § 406.024 fee.
- § 603.006 — Fees charged are entered in a fee book.
- § 603.007 — A fee is not payable until a written bill with the details of the fee is produced or ready to be produced.
- § 603.008 — A complete list of fees the notary may charge by law must be posted in a conspicuous place. This page is that list for web and print.
- Apostilles are issued by the Texas Secretary of State, not by the notary, and are not billed as a notarial act here.
